The project to create the Torch for the 30th edition of the 2019 Summer Universiade was born from the need to define, with a symbolic object, the overall meaning that the Campana Universiade intends to transfer in terms of philosophy of action, ethical-social values and sporting-cultural messages to the national and international community. The torch, carried by torchbearers chosen for the occasion, will be the protagonist of a tour that will visit the main Italian university cities in the 2018/2019 academic year.
The study group of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, made up of: Federico Motugno, Martina Crumetti, Antonio Petrillo, Artemisia Riemma and Cristian Guetta, coordinated by the teacher Massimo Colombo, won the European tender for the creation of the graphic project of the Torch of 'Universiade held in Naples.The design is based on the contrasts that have always characterized Neapolitan culture, sinuous and angular shapes, materials and colors give this sensation in a modern and minimalist way.
